I worked out my calorie deficit based on weight/height/age etc to help me lose some weight. apparantly 1280 is my golden number.... set my macros at 45% carbs/25% protein/30% fat (not really sure what im doing to be honest! just had a quick look online at suggested ratios)
my question is.... im feeling really full all day and looking at my diary - I eat bloody heaps! am I doing something wrong that I am not aware of?
Thanks in advance

Your macros look pretty good. Are you weighing your food? Maybe you're eating more than you think. I also don't see any oil or butter logged, are you using oil or butter for cooking? You'll need to log that too.0

thanks for the heads up on the diary settings!
yeah been weighing and measuring everything within an inch of its life! the butter is "dairy blend salt reduced" i use a pre packaged 5g portion to make sure I cant go over (obessessed maybe?..)
I dont use oil for cooking, I have a brill stone pan - but being in australia I mostly bbq/grill my evening meat
and I seem to be losing....i just cant get over the amount I am eating0 -
You probably ate a lot more before, just to gain the weight you are now trying to lose.
You have just started counting your calories and you are very aware of what you are eating. Sometimes just the paying attention can make you feel full give it time, you will adjust.
Eat all your calories, you can find nutrient dense foods to fill you, and no need for light or diet foods if you are consistently under eating.
Weigh everything and use liquid cups and spoons too. Accuracy is a great leveller.

Since you are Australian, one thing to remember is that this site generally does not use metric volume measurements. 1 cup on the site is not 1 cup in Australia (220ish vs 250ml), and a tablespoon is out too (15 vs 20 ml). It caught me out in the beginning, but now I use ml measurements instead of cups and tablespoons.0

One thing that may be making you feel like your eating a higher quantity is that you're eating lots of lower calorie foods, which means you're get more food bang for your buck.0

great point! I was definitely eating HUGE portions of meat... 100g of chicken looks about a fortth of what I used to plate up!
portions portions portions!

I think your Macros look good .
As long as your weighing all your solids and measuring your liquids, you should be fine.

Most of the things that she logged are in grams, so I guess that she is weighing her food.0 -

Did you really only use 1 teaspoon of jam with breakfast? Thats such a tiny amount i don't think i could cover a piece of toast with that little no matter how thin i spread it.0

I am not sure if you have the grams listed in the potato....but I know I used to log a 'medium' potato and it would be 110-ish calories....and then I bought a food scale. My potatoes ended up being around 170g and it was actually 329 calories!!
So I have learned to pretty much weigh everything and not do a generic track of food.
I hope that helps!
