Changing the name of a food

If I don't like the name in the data base for something, is there a way that I can change it so I can find it faster. Like "cucumber" versus "generic cucumber"?

You can edit some food items, but you can't edit other food items. If you can't edit a food item, your next option, as the previous poster indicated, is that you can create your own private food items which will be stored in your My Foods list.
You can edit food items that are not Verified (green check mark); however, it appears that the relational database restrictions MFP has on the Food Database for publicly-shared food items may not let you change just the name of an item.
Please see these articles, and search for other helpful articles, on the MFP Help pages...
