You go to the store and buy a scale. How would you weigh anything without a scale? Is this a trick question?0

changed my wording. my bad.0

Digital scale for solids, measuring cups and spoons for liquids. Otherwise you're just guessing, and will most likely be incorrect.0

A food scale has made losing weight much less stressful and more successful for me because I'm terrible at estimating.0

any cheap reliable scales you can link me to?0

This was the first scale I bought. It worked fine until I dropped it on a tile floor. XD
Really, you can just go on Amazon and look for anything that doesn't have awful reviews.0 -
Look Target, Bed bath beyond, and walmart. About $20 will do. This place works "awesomely" with one.0

Any digital food scale with a tare button that does grams and ounces will do. It can be cheap. I got mine from Amazon. But Walmart, target, etc will have them too.0

Can I suggest Bed Bath & Beyond? or WalMart? any digital scale will work but I'd look for one with lighted display and the ability to zero out the scale, i.e. you can place a dish on the scale, zero it out, then add food and the weight displayed is from your food, not your dish. My scale is from OXO.com, found in Bed Bath & Beyond for about $25?0

I bought this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004164SRA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 at the beginning of the year. Love it so far. I just keep it out on the counter all the time and use a dish or wax paper to cover it (and tare) when I'm measuring. I love that I can be more accurate in my logging, and it's interesting to see how much you were over or underestimating some things. I'm only sorry I didn't buy one sooner, because it's really an affordable piece of equipment.0

Just get the scale. 20 bucks to insure you lose weight? Cheaper than a lot of gimmicks.0

Yep, I have this one. Got it at Walmart for $12, $13 with taxes. It works!!
Although I must admit that I did lose weight without having a scale for quite some time. I just chose "medium apple", "one light Yoplait yogurt", "2 slices of toast" etc. With the scale I've realized I wasn't too far off with those measurements anyways. I also made recipes and most are just for 2, so it wasn't that hard to just split them in two. :flowerforyou:0 -
ok ok i'll buy one, you persuaded me.

Find a scale that weighs in grams, pounds as well as ounces. If you look at nutrition labels, they list grams as well as volume for serving sizes. Then, when practicable, weigh them on the scale. This will be more accurate than measuring cups.0
