You might need to provide a bit more info to get good advice! What is your height/weight, how long have you been logging, how have you been determining your caloric intake (guessing? measuring cups? food scale?). Maybe open your food diary so you can get more specific advice

For heavens sake please be kind to yourself!! You and your poor body had a baby only a couple of months ago and you are already restricting the nourishment it needs to rebuild and strengthen again! I had 3 children and can honestly tell you to be patient - yes you will have a flabby belly, yes you will have those stubborn bits of mummy fat which will take ages to shift but NO not everyone is like the people you see on the TV or in mags!
If you really want to shift the weight, pop your baby in a pram and walk with him/her! I walked over 3 miles a day with my firstborn for the first 6 months (he wouldn't sleep!!) and the weight dropped off without me restricting anything. Didn't shift so fast with the next 2 but then I had to walk at toddler pace so way slower.
I'm not for one minute saying you shouldnt be aware of what you are eating but please ladies, maybe if we were a little kinder to our poor old bods and had slightly lower expectations it might help us !
PS congratulations on the birth of your baby xxxx0 -
totally agree0

I'm not sure that I'd even managed to muster up the energy to shower when my little girl was 10 weeks old, let alone exercise!!0

Well that's me told lol! I know I should give my body chance. I'm just impatient. Thanks for your input all x0

Please tell me you're not breast feeding on 1200 calories a day and exercising.0

This is what I was thinking. You should be kind and patient with your body right now regardless, youre under a lot of stress and sleep deprived with a new baby. If youre breastfeeding you especially need to make sure youre getting enough (there is a way to track it in your food diary, it gives you extra calories). If youre breastfeeding you might be depriving your body TOO much which can make your body want to hold onto fat because it thinks its starving.

If you're feeling very despondent, as you say, you may want to consider post partum depression - and seek professional help.0

I started tracking very liberally about a month postpartum, giving myself extra calories for nursing. It took some time. Its hard to see your body so different so I understand the impatience, but you'll get there. Dont kill yourself trying to make it happen fast!0

Are you breastfeeding? It uses a lot of calories and will help you drop the weight without cutting calories too much. Just remember you need nutritious food to heal and recover. Also be kind to your body you made a baby thats an amazing thing but pregnancy changes a woman's body and you may not look exactly the same as you did before the baby. But thats ok! Love your body for what its capable of.0

Have you been on MFP for the 10 weeks post?
How long have you been trying to get the MFP deficit to work? If you have only been here a week or two eat that number of calories you stated, goodness, gracious, give your body time to adjust.
And 1200 to 1400 calories a day sounds vauge, and I assume eating back exercise calories...
Follow the flow chart above!!!!!! It is 100% fool proof if you follow it.0 -
I'm not BF no. And no I'm not depressed! Second baby so I know my body will be different and no not eating back calories excersised. Thanks all for input0

Actually, insufficient nutrition while breastfeeding can compromise the milk supply. There have been plenty of women who stop producing milk while in a calorie deficit. Starvation mode as you describe if here is a myth.
OP, be more patient. I have heard that some women have a terrible time losing for the first several months (I suspect this is hormone related, bug could be wrong) after giving birth, others it seems to fall off. Take care of yourself and baby.0 -

Do you weigh all of your solid and semi sales on a kitchen scale? If not, there is a possibility that you are eating than you think.0 -
I think it's more likely that she's 10 weeks post partum and the pregnancy hormones are running through her body and her body is still healing from the trauma
Too much too soon ...your body has made an entire human being, give yourself a break0
