Golfers...do you do anything to cope with playing with cold golf balls?

I seem to lose about 10 yards off irons and about 15 yards off the tee when I play the same balls in the winter.

Anybody have any luck switching to a lower compression ball or do you just adjust?

Golf is a Spring, Summer and Fall sport. When it gets cold, I don't play.

our average high in my area never drops below 60*, but I do play on some 40* days.

40* is my lower limit. winters in Northern NJ get chillier.

the struggle is real, but I contemplated removing "golf" from the title for the additional traffic.

I think this season I need to put an Xstiff shaft in my driver too...I've always played with a tip-stiff stiff, and I'm losing some balls to the right/snapping a few to the left.

And yes, I'd rather blame my equipment than work on my swing...

At least you know your equipment. You lost me at tip-stiff.... hopefully the extra stiff will help you get your balls going straight.

I really thought this was about golf at first. So naive I am! For the record I always use a stiff shaft!

If the balls are getting in the hole, you have bigger problems, than the amount of strokes taken.

I'm a novice player so, I just give them a brisk rub, blow on them for luck, then take my best shot. They often land wide of the mark, but I'm happy just to be playing.
