Are you allowed to bring those clear ziplock brand plastic containers on an airplane? I'd like to pack some fruit for my flight tomorrow and would rather have it in a plastic container than a plastic bag (Don't want the grapes getting squished in my carry-on)?

Yes. Solids are fine - they just freak out about liquids. If it is an international flight, though, they may object to fruits being brought into their country.

Solid food is no problem. I fly often and have brought peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruit, granola bars, carrot sticks, etc. and TSA has never said a word.

Ive always wondered if you could bring a block of ice onto a plane. I think ill try.

Also i have brought baked pies on planes, and full coolers filled with food as my carry on.

You can bring food on a plane? I've never thought about doing it and have never seen anyone do it but nice. I'll get some Chili's takeout in the terminal cafe and bring it on my next flight. MUCH better than their flight food.

Oh yes! The past few times I've been on airplanes I've packed my lunch - it's cheaper and way healthier! :)
