A bad day or week does not define you

I notice a lot of posts about being discouraged or having trouble staying on track. I admit I've had a bad couple of days diet wise and not exercising much because of being sick. Usually this would be the point where I give up and go back to my old habits. But I've decided that these bad days don't define me. I have the power to begin again. The beauty of a new day is the ability to try and make it better than the last.

And as it turns out, that fast food I had for dinner wasn't nearly as fulfilling as it used to be. My energy level is up thanks to my increase in water. I'm a little less out of breath while playing with my kids. These are all major sucesses whether my scale reflects that or not.

Good luck everyone.

Here here! It's about making progress, not being perfect!

You are NOT beginning again just because you slipped. This is a long battle we have to fight and there will be moments of progress, triumph, failure, and testing. Testing whether we will get up our just lay there and die.

Picking up yourself isn't beginning again, nor is it starting at Square One. It's where you are for that moment and it likely happen again.

Just keep getting up. Keep. Getting. Up.

This is how my weight went before & after a 2 week holiday (vacation) - I went on a cruise and ate and drank as much as I wanted. Sugar-Loaded cocktails, multiple desserts, 1am pizza.... I had it all. I didn't put in any significant effort to exercise.

Day after I got back, I got back into my routine and you know what, it turns out my 2-week binge had very little impact. Having a "bad" day (or even week!) will not be what causes you to "fail". Admitting defeat and not trying again is what will cause you to "fail"
