coconut oil calories

I know coconut oil is best for cooking with as it has the highest smoke point meaning it trans much later than other oils. The difficulty is the whopping calorie content! I was taught that fat (as in the micro) is roughly 9kcal per gram but the coconut oils listed on this database are much higher and it is taking me over my calorie target. What would you suggest on a low calorie diet? I really don't want to go down the trans route. Any ideas?

Oils have the same calories. Maybe the data base entries you saw were incorrect.0

coconut oil- 120 calories for 1 TBS. Is that the data you're getting?0

Yes 120 kcal for 1tbs. If that data is correct maybe my grams/TBS equation is wrong?0

I keep it in the fridge so its solid and then chisel out a 4g chunk at a time. I weigh it. I think a tablespoon is quite a lot of fat to use at one time.0
