College student trying to stay motivated!

Hey guys! I've been doing an internship so i finally have time in the evenings to work out and plan my meals so hopefully when school starts again this fall it sticks with me. Between studying, classes, and stressing out about studying/classes, I've gained about 20 pounds since i started high school and i want it GONE. In high school I only focused on being fit enough to dominate at sports, but now I want to get fit just to feel great about how I look. I've been using the app since January but I'm losing steam so if anyone else feels like they can relate feel free to add me as a friend!

I feel the same way. I'm working in a lab all summer and am trying to keep healthy habits that I continue when the semester starts up again!0

Does your school have any kind of fitness center? Or activities classes? When I was getting my first undergrad degree, I regularly took classes like weight training, swim, and even golf. Knowing that I had to show up for class was a good motivation to workout.
Now I mostly make use of the fieldhouse (it's basically a full gym, all sorts of weights and cardio machines and a track and racketball court and stuff).
As far as meals, if you plan your lunch the night before then you'll have time to pack something healthy (and far better than going to the cafeteria. cheeper too!)0 -
I feel like that too. I have an internship for two weeks out of the month all summer. I've already gained weight this summer, cause I don't get to exercise as much anymore. At school I had to walk everywhere and dance 3 times a week. I just don't even know where to start. I really feel like I don't get support at home.0

Exactly same problems. I usually take around 16-18 hrs/semester and work two jobs. Luckily in the Fall I am in the WVU Marching Band, which helps me to get my daily exercise. I moved into a complex now that has a gym that realllly helps me out. I also found that playing sports for me at our recreation center burns much more calories than just normally working out. Now that it's summer, I've got a job in an office job and it gives me all the time in the evenings to do what I please (which has recently been running and going to the gym). The main thing to do is to keep yourself motivated and keep a schedule, that's the only way I could make time to do all the things I do.0

At work the fitness center is free and in my building so I've had no excuse not to work out. It was a good start, I lost 10 pounds and am halfway there, and I've been good about buying healthy food and packing my lunch/snacks beforehand, but i'm afraid once classes start i'll slip back into frozen pizzas, a dozen trips to the coffee cart, and never making time to work out! Plus they're renovating our gym so it's a complete mess.
I'm forcing myself to learn to enjoy running. it's free and you can do it anywhere - limited potential for excuses besides my own laziness!0 -
That's what I'm doing, and I'm honestly hooded now. I run 4+ nights a week, 4-7 miles, mainly because it's free and I've really grown attached to it. Just make sure and plan out your meals throughout the day, before the day even starts, and then you feel obligated to stick to your plan. Just make sure to keep yourself accountable. The best thing to do would be to get someone else who has free time in the times you have free time and make plans with them to go to the gym, then you have someone with you, which helps, and you have someone there with you, and to make you go = ).0

I understand completely. They are building a new student recreation center on our campus because the current gym is awful and filled with the athletes training for this or that. I am taking summer classes so I am trying to get my routine down now. I saw someone today on the recumbent bike with a textbook open on the panel studying while she peddled. Awesome idea! Also, voice record your lectures and listen to those while you work out instead of regular music.0
