Hey, everyone! I've used MFP before, having lost 30lbs on it before so I know it works. I am set back with some new challenges. I'm at my highest weight ever & recently diagnosed with acid reflux, and more specifically LPR -- airway reflux that affects the throat.

My whole adult life I've subsisted on fast food, soda, fatty foods, microwave foods, and everything else bad for you. With acid reflux I can't have any of that. I also have to change the way I eat and when I eat. I ate in bed all the time and ate my heaviest meal at dinner time. Both of those have to be changed.

I'm looking for some support and friends so we can help each other get into a healthier lifestyle and weight.

Please feel free to add me! I look forward to meeting you all :)

    Hi Ashley,
It seems like we have been on the same diet. My favorite meal is anything from Taco Bell, or rippled chips and chive dip. Yes, chips and dip is a meal if you eat the whole bag. Lol. I am also dealing with alot of acid reflex. I haven't seen a dr though. Have you found anything that helps? I don't know how many more chalky tums I can eat.

Hi Girls! I've been on here before but I'm starting a new journey too. I've recently started getting nutritional counseling and following her food plan suggestions and reading labels and so far I've lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks!! I was at my highest and something had to give, lol. Going on my first cruise in April and my goal is to lose 30 lbs by then. I'm 5'5" started at 280 lbs.

Dropping acid is a great recipe book. I recommend it to my singing clients and they swear by it.
I can't eat after 6 and God forbid I eat icecream or dried fruit or heavy cheese after dinner.
I rarely have heartburn or reflux nowadays.

Hey, Im in a similar position, Im at my heaviest at about 220 lbs, I also have acid reflux, that has affected my throat, Im seeing an ent next month, its cracked my voice and i sound like a bird trilling now lol, I take omeprazole which helps, also a spoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water in the evening seems to help too, I know its weird having an acid thing to relieve it, but I read it dilutes your stomach acid, it seems to work for me anyway, so please be careful! Springfield1970, I will look for that book,Im learning the ukulele and we are expected to sing, which is a real battle to try and keep my voice low.
I know a lot of my problem is too much acid/fats, its hard to get a balance, but Ive been trying to eat more natural, and I do feel better.
