My thyroid was removed in July of 2012. I would like to no if anyone else has had their thyroid removed and how it has impacted your weight loss journey. I am looking for more friends like me.

  • Hola, mi nombre es Maria. My tyroid gland was remove in 2010. I always was tired and my neck nodules were getting bigger. My doctor send me to the specialist and he found out I had cancer. I had the surgery and radiation. Right now, I am struggling with my weight; I have to lose more than 100 pounds. I have problem with portion control. I start seeing a nutritionist, and she is helping me with managing my daily meals. I am motivated.

I was going to see a nutritionist but when I started logging everything with this App I also bought a food scale at Walmart. The food scale has really helped me. My Dr also upped my synthroid in November 2015. I gained 84.8 pounds from July 2012 till November 2015. Since I started logging everything in November and exercising 30 minutes a day I've lost almost 25 pounds . It's a hard journey.

Maria I am glad you are motivated! I hope you have a great support system as well. For the longest I felt that I would continue to gain. My meds seemed to make me so hungry all the time. I stopped drinking soda and eating candy and junk and its helped me control things better. I hope all goes great with your nutritionist!
  • Miranda do you speak Spanish? I asked you because for me is more easy to write in Spanish. If not I will try my best.
