When does loose skin become an issues? Obviously not when you lose 5kg. Where does it start? 15kg, 20kg, 30kg, ... ? or if you drop 5 points on the BMI? Is there a "rule of thumb"? Not looking for an exact number/science? Just to get an idea.

Can u prevent loose skin by losing 5kg, maintaining, losing 5kg, maintaining, losing 5kg, ... etc.? Or will loose skin eventually allways show?

I think it just depends on the person and I put on weight quickly and lost it quickly and i have a PT i work with who lost 55kg but she was overweight her whole life and took 4 years to lose it and she has barley any lose skin

I also know a guy who lost 30kg and hasn't shown any lose skin so it really just depends on the person and where they hold the weight e.g. Gut, thighs

but i don't think it would show unless someone lost 20-30kg+ depending on there size

I lost almost 40lbs and the only place it is visible is over my abs. I held a lot of fat in my abdominal area! I think my skin is looser in other places, but not to the point where anyone else can see it. My age might also be a factor. I also remember always being able to pinch and pull at my skin over my abs. Maybe its just naturally looser and thicker there.

I'm 58 years old, have been overweight most of my life. Over the last 3 years I've lost 85 pounds. I have loose skin everywhere but I'd rather have it than be unhealthy.

I lost 275 pounds (410 pounds to 135 pounds) and don't have any issues with this! Family genetics... how you carry your extra weight (pear shaped vs. apple or hourglass, etc)... how fast or slow it's lost (those who lose super fast like they do on those weight loss shows vs. a safer rate most often have problems)... how much water you drink (I always aim for at LEAST 1/2 my body weight in ounces of water and zero calorie fluids)... to 'how' you lose the weight- in a balanced, healthy method vs. some gimmicky way... ALL these things factor into someone's final outcome.
