Hi how many members when starting their weight lose journey did not pay attention to a certain amount of fruits or veggies they needed to eat daily and just cut down on calories. I am just starting to lose weight again but I obsess over getting a certain amount of fruit and veggies daily and not just cut back on calories that I over think and end up not eating right period, I know that's weird but I do. Should I just worry about eating better and fewer calories until I get that under control then get to the more veggie and fruit part of it. Thanks

Since weight loss is ll about calories, that's what I did. Fruit and veggies are great for vitamins and minerals and the low calories, but I didn't particularly say "omg I need to have 2 fruits and 2 veggies today". It was and is just whatever I feel like eating.0

I am trying to increase the amount of fresh stuff I eat now that I've got into the rhythm of eating fewer calories, but to start off with I did just concentrate on the calories and not really think about nutrition that much. You might need to take it one step at a time if you're struggling.0

The first time I used myfitnesspal, I succesfully lost 20 pounds doing basically just calorie counting, aka I didnt worry much about what I was eating. I would sleep all day after a night shift and then use all my calories eating chipotle. Not saying that its healthy or that I recommend that per se, but it did work. Basically yes, try to eat produce for your health but dont obsess about it from a weight loss perspective.
I got pregnant almost right after I got to my goal weight so now I am back to trying to lose weight again after having the baby. This time I am focusing more on nutrition for my long term health. I will say its easier to stay full eating fruits and veggies, making it easier to meet calorie limits. But you can lose weight either way. Baby steps. Its ok to focus on calories now and work your way up to eating healthier. You dont have to eat a perfect diet from the get go.0 -
At first I just cut down my food intake in general, cut out fast food and a lot of junk food and started cooking my own meals.
Honestly still I don't try very hard to get fruits and veggies into my diet, but it's easy because I like them.0 -
I started about three weeks ago. I was raised eating a lot of fruits and veggies so I am used to eating fresh foods.
I eat oranges, apples, kale, bananas, raw green beans, cooked bella mushrooms, boiled okra and avocados.
Work your way up to eating fresh foods but don't make yourself eat them if you are already full.
If you eat a lot of sandwiches, I recommend putting some fresh kale on them. My fiancé used to put lettuce on his but he found the kale more appealing.
Just find what works for you and good luck.0
