Too many calories?

I feel like the calorie goal MFP has given me is a lot. Maybe because I have never minded calories until recently?
The given goal is 2,040 calories.
I weigh 275lbs and am trying to loose 1lb/week to reach my goal of 185lbs.

Height? Activity level?
It sounds about right for your stats so far.0 -
Yeah need exact stats but you have a high weight so get to eat more to lose it at a slow pace.0

i am so jealous of people who get to eat that much.
curse being short. LOL
sounds about right if you are taller.
you can always re-evaluate after a month or so to see if you feel the need to revise your calorie intake.0 -
Sounds about right, given your weight and the rate of loss you chose.
You'd get apprx 1500 if you chose 2 lbs a week rate.0 -

Those calories sound right. When I asked about activity level I meant BESIDES working out. Daily life. You are supposed to log your exercise separately when you use the MFP NEAT method.0 -

Daily life I'd say I'm semi-active. I have four little ones so I am constantly moving around the house with them. Thank you for the help. (:0 -

Okay...so did you tell MFP you are "lightly active"?0 -
What did you set your activity level at? Sedentary? Lightly active? Active?0
-
That certainly sounds reasonable to me.0

Goal is your base calories - so goal is actually 2040 + exercise calories.
Doesn't sound at all unreasonable to me for your height and size. Try it for a couple of months and see how it goes. Then adjust if required.
