For a party I'd just make a buffet... fruit and raw veggies with dips, mini sandwiches (ham, cheese etc), cheese, salami, crackers, chips... and of course cake. And probably cookies. It's what we did for my kids 3rd birthday, considering that there were other kids and that they probably wouldn't have eaten much of the 'healthy' stuff, but happily munch on veggies and fruit, and parents were happy enough with the cheese, crackers, and sandwiches.

If the food is for 2-year olds, doing a buffet of finger foods is probably your best bet. They're not old enough to remember what you put out as long as there's plenty to eat that they will like. Works for adults, too, because a lot of us tend to like grazing at parties.

Sandwiches are usually a favourite with little ones. Cut them up in small triangles, and do not add sauces etc, keep them simple. Also pizza cut in small, almost bite size, slices. Fruit trays are also usually a hit, just be careful about what you choose, or it might end up in a mess if you have many kids invited.
