Hey Guys,

I've just started this calorie and food diary as Im struggling to put on weight. (Currently about 75kg and 6'6" tall). I have been to speak with gym instructors about eating the right foods and cutting out all the 'junk' but I'm finding it really difficult to hit my calorie intake - 3,500 caleries per day - and also do the exercise. Anyone got any ideas that may help?

Cheers,

Noel

I think for you something that might be beneficial is a protein powder. Make a morning smoothie with fruit and yogurt and add a couple of scoops of powder (can't taste the grit as easily). It's a healthy breakfast with good protein for muscle building.

Try nuts. Small servings of nuts pack a lot of calories. They are very nutritious.

You might also try whole grain breads, cereals, pastas... I am always shocked at how calorie dense bread is.

Anything nutrient dense basically. Shakes are a good idea, pb, oils, nuts, avocado (eww), potatoes (sweet have more nutritional value, but less carbs), higher fat dairy (watch sat fat), add oats, pb, oil, etc to protein shakes.

More protein - nuts, and nut butters. More healthy fats, like olive oil and avacado. Whole grain breads and pastas.
