Hard Exercise and Weight Gain?

So, the past two days I participated in two very intense Akido lessons. I'm a beginner in the art and was limiting myself to only once a week (I'd go every other day, but the class schedule clashes with my work schedule and I can only go on my days off.) This past week I decided I was going to push myself and go twice. Well, I'm in a lot of pain now. I don't think there isn't a muscle that I didn't pull...so the next day I found myself being super...super lazy.
I did a lot of cooking, I roasted a chicken, made stuffing and drank a bottle of wine over the course of the day because...wine, and I told myself it would help with the horrible muscle aches. Cooking is the bane of my weight loss. I love it, and butter makes the world go 'round in my kitchen. I taste everything and nibble as I cook. Well, now I've gained 6lbs in two days. Should I be worried about it or will it go away just as fast as it came?

It's normal to see a "gain" after you start a new exercise regime. Weight fluctuates daily whether you do exercise or not, so don't worry. If you are sticking to a calorie deficit every day, you'll lose weight.0

Most likely glycogen and water retention for muscle repair. It's gotten to the point where I can predict the weight fluctuation based entirely on when I exercise.0

Alcohol causes water retention, too.0

Stress and new exercise will cause water retention and you've probably eaten a little more food than normal so have some excess food weight, there is no way you gained 6lbs of fat in two days unless you ate yourself into a coma -- which I imagine would be one way to lose weight.0

between the exercise and the alcohol, you probably are holding on to some water
it's natural.0 -
Thank you everybody, that is very reassuring!0
