Ive had my fitness pal for a while but this is the first time Im trying to stick at it properly. Do you guys 'eat' your fitness calories? How much have you lost following myfitnesspal?? x

My advice, the number one way to lose weight is will power will power will power stick to it and when you see the results you'll know it was worth the effort, good luck to you and keep it up

The idea is to eat your exercise calories back. But because all exercises are an estimate, you have to be careful. It may be a good idea to eat half of them back and see if you are getting results. If you aren't, increase/decrease as necessary.

So far I've lost 14 pounds in 4 weeks by eating "normal" foods and just light exercise.

Thank you people. The only exercise I can do currently is a little walking and swimming as Im waiting to have an operation on my foot. I wear my fitbit daily and try to reach 8000 steps. I know 10000 is the recommended steps but for my bad foot I can just manage 8000 x

Swimming and walking are very decent ways to get some active time. Just remember, anything you do is better than sitting on the couch.

advice: don't give up! not just the fitness - yourself. that is why it's really about! When I started so many times I wanted to stop exercising I made myself do it. 30 inches of snow on ground here and I am going to brave it and stay committed.

As far as exercise I use a heart monitor and find it calculates my calories burned more accurately.

8000 is good. Remember exercise is very important BUT there are 168 hours in a week and even if you workout for 4 hours a week its only a small portion of the hours you have to make a difference. The number one thing is nutrition (I hate the word diet as it seems negative), eat well and less than your body "needs" and you will lose weight.
