I've been at 122-123 for three months now. My goal is to get between 115-118, so obviously I'm at that part of my diet where it gets the hardest.
I've tried everything from calorie-cycling, to cutting down carbs, to upping my protein and everything inbetween. Does anyone have any tips that worked for them?

I literally have 5-8 lbs to lose, so this is frustrating.

Maybe its muscle and that's why you aren't losing?
Congrats on getting so close. Maybe quit trying so hard for alittle while? I'm not sure but I think you have done a remarkable job so far. Just keep at it hun.
But remember those numbers are just that, numbers. Your body may not have anymore weight to lose. This may be your target weight.

Just keep at it. I sat at the same weight for 9 months before any more weight came off. You know, if you keep chipping away at a rock eventually something is bound to come off.

Perhaps your body is telling you you are at your goal weight. If you still feel like you have target areas, try switching your focus to toning instead of losing. 110 would be very low for someone of your height.

    Good luck to you. :flowerforyou:

Agreed! I'm 5'6 also and aim for 135-140ish.

Best advice I have received is to start back weighing and measuring everything you eat. Sometimes the portions creep up, and with the small margin you have, it could make the difference.
  • The reason I am aiming lower is because I have a tinyyy frame. My wrist is 5 inches around.

So while someone with a normal frame may be able to look great at 135, I still look a little chubby at that weight. 110-115 is what I have been most of my life, before I gained all that weight. I have always been relatively small, and have always been very healthy.

Since your doing so well- sometimes your body needs more food to fuel your muscles. adding good calories can help. Try upping your daily allotment Its helped many come out of plateaus
  • Even though the body doesnt want to achieve very low fat fat percentages it doesnt mean its not possible. When you are at your last ten pounds or so you need to measure and weigh everything you eat, and by everything I mean EVERYTHING, from coffee creamers to condiments. Every little thing makes a big difference, your carb shouldnt be too low either, aim for around 100 grams of carbs, 150 grams of protein, 30 grams of healthy fats. Do only 4 days of high interval training a week for 30 minutes including warm up and cool down. Add 3-4 days of resistance training a week for no more than 1 hour. Make sure all your carbs come from complex carbs and vegetables and fruits and avoid at all cost simple sugars and you will reach your goal in no time.

I don't know how many calories you're eating right now, but with so few pounds left to lose and weight that won't budge, I would personally opt to simply shave about 250 off my maintenance calories (about a 1/2 pound loss/week) and see where that got me a month from now.

Sure, it would be slow, but certainly faster than not losing at all, right? :)

Also: have you read 'Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle' by Tom Venuto (e-book, you can find it without paying for it if you're so inclined)? His take on things might be especially beneficial to someone in your position.
