Hi! I am having difficulities getting motivated to lose weight (I have 60lbs to lose) I am a student, I work, and also have a one year old She is a big reason I want to get healthy. I dont want my children to have the kind of weight problems I do and to teach them healthier life choices But how do I when I cant get myself to live a healthier life style. I'd like to work out but I get little time with my child now ans cherish those moments how do I not feel bad for leaving her an extra hour even 3 days a week to work out? A little motivation from someone with the same kind of scenerio would be great! Thanks yall!

Hi there! Being healthy and a good example for my daughter was one of my motivators to lose weight. It sounds like you have a busy life. I am going to suggest starting small--taking baby steps and actually even just crawling instead of stepping for awhile. By that I mean that for now you could just focus on your diet. Don't worry about getting in exercise. For the next month or two, work on eating better and finding easy ways to cut your calories in order to meet your MFP goal.

After that, you can try to add a bit of exercise. I'm not sure where you live but it's possible that the weather might be good enough that you could taker her out in the stroller for a walk 3 or 4 times a week. Then, once you've been doing that awhile, you might add another activity. I started out with walking and then I added this bodyweight training program. It's easy to do at home (no need to buy equipment, not a lot of space needed) and it helps build some strength plus gives you a bit of a cardio workout. My one caution to you is that if you are new to fitness you will likely want to cut down on the routine. For example, you might cut the number of squats and lunges in half the first few times and then work up to doing them all. You will be sore at first but easing into it will help that a bit. You'd probably also benefit from stretching afterward. I like this stretching routine.

    Best of luck to you!

Walking with your daughter, dancing with your daughter in your arms even if it's only for your fave song.....include her, I used to walk/jog with the stroller but my fave was holding my babies while dancing in the lounge room with them they loved it the smiles and giggles and I still got a puff going but it was so much fun!!! Little steps, don't be hard on yourself.....your diet choices are something you can do anywhere so start with that and just work whatever else you can fit in as a bonus!

Summerkissed is completely right. My daughter is 3 years old and I include her in the works outs.... and it helps her develop good habits.

We walk together or I put on the youtube videos "just dance kids". We call it "girls dance party". I follow the moves on the video. She is starting to do more of the moved but she also likes to freestyle dance and sing to the songs.

It is not overly intense but better than sitting on the couch.
