New to MFP

Hey everyone! Not only am I new to MFP, I am also new to exercising and truly wanting to lose weight. Currently, I am at my highest weight yet: 285 lbs. I am hoping to lose about 6 - 8 lbs per month, with a total weight-loss of 150 lbs.

One thing I tend to lack, at times, is motivation. I hoping MFP will help me in keeping my motivation going so I accomplish not only my short-term goals, but my long term goal as well!

    It sounds like you have set very attainable goals. It is very smart to make a bunch of smaller ones, than just one long-term goal. Good luck!!! I am new as well and look forward to seeing your progress!!!!!!!!!!!

    I check the "Success Forum" daily. Seeing other people's accomplishments gets me going, that and watching Dr. Oz explain what happens to your body when it's overweight. Scares the crap out of me.
