Hello everyone!
I've recently had our 5th baby (she's 18 months now) and I turned 30 this past August. At 5'2" and 140lbs I am technically overweight. However, its not the number on the scale that bothers me, but how I feel about myself. This is the first time I haven't been able to lose the weight I put on with pregnancy. Maybe because its the first time I've been a stay at home mom? I feel like I'm moderately active, I have 5 kids for crying out loud! And I've never been a big eater. Every time I track my calories, I average about 1200 a day, which is pretty low. Im here because I want to get back down to a size that I am comfortable with, and along side calories, I can see exactly how much nutrients I take in, and where they are coming from. But mostly because of the community it offers. Maybe someone here has an insight on why I've hit a wall with my weight. Is it because I'm now 30? Or I've had 5 babies in 10 years? Or because the majority of my calories come from coffee? Any insight or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome! You definitely don't look overweight to me but the post-baby weight can definitely be troublesome.

Drinking a ton of coffee is never a good thing in general so try to limit that to a few cups a day. The regular advice applies - eat fruits/veggies, eat healthier, blah blah. 1200 calories is a good goal but depends on your TDEE.

Bottom line - I think you're doing fine. Every woman experiences the post-baby weight but it might be harder for you to drop it because this is your 5th child and your hormones/body style has changed. Also, as you get older, your metabolism slows a bit (although again, I think 1200 is fine). What workouts do you do?

Well.... I don't work out. Just daily activities like chasing kids around, cleaning the house, going on walks. I do yoga when I remember to, but to be honest, I'm not great at keeping a workout schedule. There's always something that derails me and then I find reasons to not. It's bad, I know.

I understand. Between 2 jobs and expecting our first child, I get rundown and busy too. I just make it a habit to prioritize the gym and working out or I'll lose my routine. You could also buy some home workout vids pretty cheaply and try those. With your calories/metabolism, you don't need to do insane workout programs but anything that would burn a couple hundred cals (most do, at the least) would help you. Resistance/weight lifting will also help to build some lean muscle which in turn helps you burn more fat and calories. You won't bulk up unless you really try so no worries there.
