Can you bank calories? so eat say 200 under your daily goal each day, and have a 1400 calorie treat at the end of the week?
would you still lose the same amount of weight?

Yes, do it all the time.0
-
I do it all the time!0
-
Sure.0
-
Yep. I just aim for an overall weekly deficit.0
-
Yes, many of us follow a weekly deficit. It all averages out.0
-
Exactly. I used to follow Weight Watchers, which is set up to do just that -- you get an allotment of "weekly points", which you don't have to use, and which you can spread out over several days or use all at once. So when I came here and started calorie counting, I decided that as long as I had a weekly deficit I was OK. It's been working.0

If you were going to have a 'binge' is there any difference in whether you cut your calories the week before or week after?0
-
Yes it's how I lost0
-
I don't see why not. I mean it's a weekly average that's important not so much the when you eat it0

I can and I do.0
-
yes. And I'd love to find a calorie-bank app. One that syncs w/ MFP and my Fitbit so I can easily see my running total!0

Credit card versus saving for something ahead of time!

Carry Over - Unused Calories From Past Week

For my drinking tequila and pretzel saturday nights.0 -
I have been banking calories all week, so I am having a cupcake tonight!0

I do my best to stay on a very even keel the entire week. I've done super well for the past 3 weeks and go to a birthday party tomorrow night. I've lost 11 lbs so if I gain back 1 or 2 lbs I won't obsess about it. And will get RIGHT back on track Saturday.0

Are you guys banking your exercise calories and saving them for a treat or are you just going into a deficit with your normal daily calorie allowence?0
-
Side question: How long is a banked calorie good for?0
