Where were you when you heard the news? Most of you weren't even born yet. dry.gif

I was in 3rd grade and they sat everyone down to watch it live. I'll never forget the teacher's reactions.

I was in Ms. Buchko's 11th grade American history class. We had a sub that day. Some of the classes had gathered to watch the launch, but ours was not one of them. I was writing a letter to a pen pal when the announcement came over the P.A. system. I never finished the letter.

3rd grade, but I don't remember watching it in school. I remember seeing it all over the news that night though. I still have the front page of the newspaper from the day after.

I was at school and pretty sure we had a TV in our classroom watching it. I seem to recall it was quickly turned off as we all watched on in horror

I was in 4th grade. Teacher told us about it and I remember a kid named Ron got in trouble for saying Who cares. Later on when President Reagan talked on tv I took a cassette recorder and recorded the audio. I still have that cassette somewhere.

I watched a 24 hour CNN online video of it last year. Pretty crazy stuff.

Everybody was all yippee and excited and then everything became confused and horrific. Really sad.

I was only 3, so obviously I don't remember, but I do remember talking about it later in school as I got older. Such a tragedy, and I can only imagine what that must have been like watching live.
