I'm new, and in need of help

hi everyone! I joined MFP about 2 1/2 weeks ago from live strong site and I'm loving it here!!! Over the yrs I've struggled with my weight and I'm finally determinted to lose it and live a healthy live. Well unfortunately, yesterday I found out I have multiply gall stones.
I'm scared, because I know what to eat or what to do. The internet sAys so many things inreguardes to even healthy foods can cause a gallbladder attack. Actually since starting this new life style I haven't had any pains and ive never felt an attack just pain. That's why I went to the md. Please help me. What can I eat.I know I should avoid fried foods and cheese. But does that mean like low fat cheese too?:sad: :sad:

Gallstones stink, sorry to hear you have them. You may eventually need to have the stones and/or gallbladder removed, but as long as you're not having the excruciating pain, you're OK. So that's all good news.
It's high fat foods that cause the pain. So for example it's the fat in cheese that would cause you trouble, not the fact that it is dairy. Keeping that in mind, it's pretty easy to figure out what to avoid. Just use the pain as your guide. If you have trouble figuring out what is giving you trouble, keep a food diary noting what you ate and at what time. Then when you have pain, note that in there as well. You'll soon see what gives you trouble and how long afterward you get the pain.

Thank you so much for your quick response. I am doing pretty good since I started having pains in April. And I have noted what gives me problems like, fried chicken and pizza. So I'm going to stay away from these foods or limit myself to one piece if I totally have too. I'm waiting on my drs phone call in regards to what he wants me to do, but I think you are right with just sticking to a food journal. I have been doing well and I hope I can continue with this for a while.
