I've been running and loosing weight consistently for the past 5 months
Up until now i would run in the evening then not eat afterwords but yesterday
I had a pot of cottage cheese and it changed my recovery substantially no more hobbling around after a long run
I mean i can still feel it in my legs but nothing in comparison to what the feeling was like before.
Do you guy's & girls have anything post workout and if so what do you have.
Just looking for ideas of post-workout food that is good value, lowcalorie and effective

Protein with extra BCAA's.0

I usually have sweet potato and chicken breast, for weight sessions I usually drink 40g of whey protein and maybe 20g of fast absorbing carb powder. You basically want some protein and carbs, probably more carbs than protein if it's running, vice versa for weight training.
I'm no expert though, maybe someone can chime in?0 -
When I run on my lunch break, I eat lunch afterwards. When I run or lift after work, I eat dinner afterwards.
Eating after helps replenish your glycogen stores and gives your body some fuel to help with muscle recovery (exactly what you experienced). My personal favorite post-workout snack is chocolate milk.0 -
Chocolate milk after a long run!!!0

Coco pops, almond milk and whey powder you do need carbs after running and training, as mentioned before to replenish glycogen and to help recovery.0

Best Option After Workout
Meal
Carbs - 1/2 Cup Brown Rice
Protein - 4 or 6 0z Chicken breast or Turkey
or have a Casein Protein shake and add a few grams (15 or more ) of dextrose to it. Depends on how long and intense you are running/working out.0 -
I would eat banana straight after workout and then a decent meal with protein and carbs within next hour.0

PB and Banana. Works always. If you need to get in more carbs, go for rice or potato or a big bowl of pasta salad0
-
Oatmeal. If I haven't eaten it during.
Then cheese and meat.0
