Tracking Hydration Levels

I sent a similar question to the tech support at MFP and they haven't gotten back to me yet, so I thought the community may be able to help better (faster).

I had a Taylor Digital scale with fat% and Hydration % that has served me well for the 9 years I've owned it. It died.

Tracking my hydration levels is a priority to me and I want to buy a new smart scale that will allow that tracking to continue. Unfortunately, my research yielded some interesting information that indicates (according to Withings, which right now the WS-50 is a top choice) that 'differentiating intra vs extra-cellular water is difficult and therefore the Withings does not display it directly.' I wanted to know that since it's part of the "lean-mass" total, will MFP show me a hydration graph?

Why are you so interested in hydration levels?

Get yourself an app or buy one for at least $1.00+. I bought one to remind me to drink water and its the best $1.00+ that I have spent for 2016.

It's called: Water Drink Reminder Pro

Im not going to lie- that I have no idea what the OP is talking about or what the real benefit is for tracking hydration? Especially for 9 years. I would think one would know how much they need to be drinking? Im so confused. But, it is Monday.

I haven't been tracking for 9 years, but I've owned the scale that long -it was packed away for a couple years too. I initially became interested in my hydration levels because for the first couple months of using MFP I just wanted to get a baseline of my body stats, not interested in changing my normal routine.

As I became more aware of the data, I looked at my body and noticed a consistent trend of data covering about a year and the range was within 5%. I wasn't as much concerned with accuracy but trends and this seemed suitable for that. But there were times where I was certain that I was dehydrated or well-hydrated, but the data didn't reveal that. MFP has a default chart for hydration, so I'm not the only one who tracks it. I want to find a better tool for measuring it, hence the search for a smart(er) scale that interfaces with MFP.
