Yeah I'm a beginner so I guess the first month might be the hard yet
  • Make sure that you use equipment properly and do not overdo it. For example, a beginner typically needs to work up to jogging for an houe. Start relatively small. The thing that used to get me was lifting too much after a period of no exercise.

My advice would be to start slow. If you've never jogged before, start with walking. Then walk faster. Then maybe add an incline after a bit and work yourself up. It took me about 6 months before I could jog a mile, although I could have probably tried faster but I enjoy walking on an incline over jogging.

Jogging is painful for me, bothers my knees. I tend to use the Elliptical more than anything for cardio. It's a delicate balance. Push yourself enough to maximize the workout, but not so much that you hurt/discourage yourself. I use the steam room after every workout, really seems to help the muscles recover and seems to work out the pains.
