Good morning,
Just looking to see if there are any people out there like me and if you have any tips? I'm over 18 stone, 25 weeks pregnant and have been advised by my Dr and midwife I can lose weight and should focus on eating healthy foods whilst doing it. Anyone else pregnant and trying to lose weight? I have a fitbit that I will be using as well with mfp. I am currently doing a week on maintenance calories so I get used to logging(I get about 2400kcals a day) and then drop it by 50 kcals aday until I am losing 1lb a week.
Feel free to add me
Jazz xx

If I were in your situation, I would ask for a referral to a dietitian for guidance.0

I wasn't really "overweight" at the start of either of my pregnancies, but I was in a "higher than normal BMI". With my son, I gained 70. With my daughter I gained 80. After each birth and about a year of breastfeeding, by the time each was around 2 I had lost all the pregnancy weight plus some. I had two healthy pregnancies-no gestational diabetes and I have two healthy babies.
Unless you are having a lot of problems related to the weight during pregnacy, have underlying medical conditions, or really serious family history of medical issues, I wouldn't worry about the weight. Be nice to the doctors and listen but don't be overly concerned. Good luck!0 -
There is a group called Fit, Fabulous and Pregnant and there are women in the group similar to you, I would post this in that forum.

Definitely seek out a referral to speak with a dietician. I was overweight when I became pregnant, and was instructed to only gain 20 pounds. I managed to only gain 18 with help from a dietician and a specialized meal plan, and ended up walking out of the hospital weighing less than before I became pregnant. But I know I would not have been able to do that without proper guidance from a professional. Best of luck!0
