Can't get back into it

Hi... Lost all my weight a few years ago on slim fast, yes I know it's frowned upon but it worked for me.. I then went on to calorie count to maintain/lose the last bit of weight.. Then I found 5.2 (3 years ago) & since then I have maintained my weight.. Now I want to lose this final stone or so I just can't seem to get back into the habit of calorie counting & weighing out all my food etc!!.. Plus I've got so used to eating what I want on my 5 non fast days, only having about 1500 for 7 days doesn't seem enough anymore as silly as that sounds!! & I can't seem to go a week without fasting on 500-700 cals twice a week either because after 3 years it's just what I do.. However it clearly doesn't work for me without counting calories which I don't like doing anymore purely because I'm out of the habit!!!

Stick with 5:2 and eat to your TDEE on the 5 rather than over

If you were maintaining on 5:2 it's because you were eating over your TDEE on your 5 days

    What's your TDEE ...it's not 1500 that's for sure

No my sedentary TDEE (which the 5.2 sites recommend you use) is around 1800.. 1500 is what I'd eat every day if I didn't do 5.2.. Do you do 5.2 & calorie count?

I just calorie count but I'm in maintenance and have been for a year ...still calorie count though

But you said that 5:2 suited you so I thought you'd want to continue

    Are you actually sedentary?

Yeah it does suit me but just to maintain which is no good now!!.. No I'm not sedentary, I work on the trains so I'm standing all day (very little sitting down!) .. I workout maybe 3x a week, nothing strenuous just 30-45 mins of cardio.. Can't do weights due to a condition with my neck & the strain caused by lifting anything too heavy (even a shopping basket full with groceries!!)

Then your TDEE is higher than 1800...probably closer to 2200-2400? (Guesswork)

Eat that and then 2 days at 500 = 1lb a week loss roughly

Yeah your right.. I don't know why they always say eat to your sedentary TDEE anyway in these fasting sites.. Let's see if I can back into the whole logging food every day & weighing it out!! Thanks
