Advice needed please. I have 95% stuck to my cals and increased my exercise over the past 3.5 weeks and lost 11 lbs. On Sunday, however, I went to a party and booked Monday off work. Although I didn't drink a huge amount I only had a couple of hours sleep and I (and my husband) they following morning ended up having a macdonalds breakfast followed by lunch and dinner out, both involving bread, pastry, chips, beer and wine. 2 days later and I have put on 3 lbs and I am feeling like a failure and all I want to do is give up. I know I would regret it and I am booked in for aerobics tonight so perhaps that will kick start me but does anyone have any motivational tips to keep me going? Xx

I as well have stuck to my calories this whole month and lost just over 11lbs. until this last weekend and now I'm feeling like a failure as well.
You've got this though! Go to aerobics and do your thing girl! Don't let one setback mess up all of your progress!0 -
why do you think you can't lose the three pounds you gained back? how do you know those 3lbs are fat?0

Right, well I guess we had both better take a deep breath and get on with it! Onwards and upwards! I don't know about you but I seem to be all or nothing; ether totally obsessive over food and exercise or totally off the rails eating and drinking everything in sight. Good luck with getting back on track x0

Good point jack lifts maybe I am just looking for an excuse not to put the work in again. I have done this so many times where one set back halts everything and I end up back at square one. It's stupid really, every post I read is about long term commitment rather than a quick fix.0

Some off that 3lbs is probably due to the increase in sodium? sounds like quite salty food so mainly water which is good news! and itll probably come off this week if you keep at it! Good luck!0

Thanks for your positive words, I am going to keep going and look for the longer term not just this week!!0

Please try and stop thinking like this, for your sake. Do research elsewhere about the topic, because it's a serious problem.
Also, re: your three pounds of weight gain. Did you eat an additional 10,500 calories over maintenance in those two days? Extremely unlikely, but that's what it would take to put on three pounds of fat.
Weight fluctuates drastically all day, every day, for many reasons and it's not something to worry about. You'll have better success and peace of mind, IMO, if you start measuring yourself and calculate bodyfat % in addition to the scale, and log it all and check out your results over time.

You are quite right, there is now way I ate those calories. And at the end of the day it's only 3 lbs. Just writing it down is enough to tell myself to get a grip and pull myself together! -Thank you0 -
I have the same thing going on this morning. I apparently (though not really realizing it) was bad yesterday and when I got on the scale I had gained 2 pounds! When it happens it feels like I start falling down into a hole with no way to climb out; but this morning I decided not to let it get me. I had way too much salt and fat yesterday, and I know my body is retaining that water....I'm sure that's what's happening with you right now, especially from the eating out! So just take the next couple of days and be good to your body. Drink lots of water, and hopefully good things will begin to happen again! We can do it0
