yes you can if you drink too much too quickly you upset the elctrolyte balance and can have various health symptoms including seizures - you usually get quite a few warning signs first before it gets serious but its important to work out what the right balance is between drinking a lot and drinking too much and that is different for everyone and will depend on the temperature and your activity each day.0

I was speaking about this with a highly experienced family friend who is a Dr and studied this. He said drink what s best for you! i said to him what do you mean by that? You are supposed to drink half your weight in water blah blah blah. He said if that is what your body is telling you to do then do it however this is usually a ploy by bottled water selling companies and increase fear around not drinking enough water will stop you losing water weight and your body will dehydrate etc. If it isn't then the chances are you could over do it and get 'water intoxication' . He also said think about this - people in the desert manage to survive on very little water and be healthy.
You should drink as much as you feel you need/want. Do not push yourself to drink more otherwise you are going against what is natural for your body. I began drinking 2ltr water minimum everyday 5 months ago and felt worse and more bloated than before so i stopped and just drink 1ltr amounts other drinks and feel great.

Yes, everything in moderation applies to water as well as food. I am always slightly surprised how many people recommend water as their top tip for losing weight. Whilst it is true that choosing water as your drink of choice will help in your quest for a healthy diet, drinking too much fluid is dangerous. See the following article.

Therefore choose water over say fruit juice/ fizzy drinks in your diet choices, but don't over-drink in the mistaken belief that it will help you to lose weight. If you do over-drink, it won't turn to fat, but will make you ill and possibly kill you.0 -

Wow, that's an interesting article! If it's hot or I've been running a long distance, then I certainly drink my 8 glasses as day plus more. But if it's cold, or I'm sedentary, I don't get near - if I drank any more water, I'd never be off the toilet. As fruit plays a key role in my diet, this gives me comfort that I'm drinking enough i.e. what my body is telling me I need, rather than what I'm being told to drink.0 -
Yes, you can drink too much water. It will not turn to fat but it will kill you by causing an electrolyte imbalance that stops the heart.0

A woman died from a stupid radio show game drinking too much water, in Sacramento, that was 3or4 years ago.
I was looking into this the other day. I have no desire to spend so much time in the bathroom or waiting to get to one......So Dr.'s OZ and Rosen said the 8 glass thing came from a study in 1945 on soilders, blah blah drink enough so your urine is clear.
No it does not turn to fat. I am not clear how or why we retain water...but it happens.0 -
