Meals for two - just divide calories?

If I make a meal, for example an omelette for myself and hubby to share, is it right to just divide the calories in half? Including the olive oil used for cooking?

Thanks!

Thanks! I think I was just overthinking it, what if he gets more mushrooms, I get more cheese, lol :)

Haha, i do it that way, too. Yes, there'll be minor differences.. but really, do you think you burn EXACLTY the same amount of calories each day, too? it's all an estimate, but it works.

Only if you divide the meal 50/50!

My boyfriend has a bigger appetite and calorie allowance than me so we'd split 60/40 for example.
  • Haha I have this issue, when he's at mine and I cook, I split the food 60/40 or maybe say if we have roast dinner, give him potatoes and me have extra veg instead, or pasta and he'll have garlic bread and I won't....but when I'm at his he serves exactly 50/50 and it's so yummy looking and I always thinks it looks bad if I leave some! It's ok eating less if what is on my plate is less, but if I get the same as him and his family it's more obvious I'm not eating it!
