    Pace Picante sauce

I sometimes save calories for the dressing even though I dislike doing that. I think dressing is a waste of calories. Trying to change my mind set about it. Dressing is good use of calories for me because I will consume more vegetables if I use it.

Salsa, a little soy sauce and pb2 peanut butter powder (makes an awesome Asian satay sauce!), basalmic vinegar, or Trader Joe's Champagne Pear Vineagrette.

Low cal dressing. Good quality balsamic. Lemon juice. We don't really go in for dressings in the UK the same way as in the US so it doesn't often occur to me to add anything!

I have a good organic basalmic & olive oil dressing. 40 calories a tbsp. I stretch it by spritzing either straight basalmic or red wine vinegar on all my greens before adding the dressing.

I've been making my own dressing! Even squeezing half a lemon or lime and adding herbs makes salad taste spectacular.

I usually make my own - 2 tsp of brown or Dijon mustard, herbs, salt, pepper, 2 Tbs. balsamic vinegar, 1 tsp olive oil. That's usually enough for a lightly dressed salad for 2 people. 35 calories. You don't even really need the oil, in which case it's more like 15 calories.

I like to top salads with some sprinkled dried basil, oregano, salt and pepper then drizzle balsamic vinegar over it. If I have calories to spare sometimes I'll also drizzle (from a measuring spoon) some olive oil. If I have company, I mix all this up in a bowl or gravy boat so people can dress their own salads. The trick is instead of traditional more oil less vinegar, I do 3 parts good balsamic to 1 part oil. It's always popular and I get requests to make it.

If you have fresh basil, a handful chopped and mixed into your salad then add the other things is even better.

Whole foods makes a garlicky kale salad that's pretty low cal. Ive never put the tahini in mine--just the vinegar, yeast, garlic, lemon, and a dash of soy sauce.

The trader Joe's light champagne vinaigrette is my favorite store bought dressing.
