HELP - I have to plan my best friend's bachelorette party for this upcoming April/May. Two issues - she is shy/a bit of a prude and the other bridesmaids are cheap! Any suggestions? We live right outside of NYC.

    male stripper?

don't think she'll be too thrilled.. she's already mentioned she doesn't want her fiance having strippers (lets be real - he's probably having strippers) and she thinks its "nasty"

try going to a comedy club, that's what I did for my sisters bachelorette. It works great because everyone can be together, and with her being shy she doesn't really have to get too chatty right away. The laughter will put everyone at ease and be comfortable, and can start off the night on a fun note!! Then head for drinks afterwards.

Comedy club is good. I signed everyone up for a pole dancing class. It's active, but only slightly naughty. And it's not too bad per person.

For my bachelorette party my bridesmaids took me bar hopping. Very simple. We ended up at a dueling piano bar and stayed there the whole night. It was a blast! I don't know how common dueling piano bars are, but this one was jam packed with people and it was the most fun I've ever had at a bar. If you can fine one, I'd highly recommend it.

You can have a sewing party, that sounds pretty prudish to me.

^ This place is awesome! The food is delicious, the bands are great, and the vibe is hella fun! A fun night out in the city - lux food, music, dancing, and bar hopping.

My original bachelorette weekend trip plan was to rent a townhouse and enjoy a few small wineries and spas. Well, life got in the way (3 friends unexpectedly lost jobs and 2 more got pregnant) so instead we opted for a potluck and sleepover. Everyone brought lame romcoms and sinful food we would never admit to eating in public. It was like being in middle school again - without the "light as a feather, stiff as a board".

A city scavenger hunt. Might sound hard but it was a lot of fun. Teams of 2-3. Like getting a kiss from an officer, etc. etc. Cheesy crap. Of course alcohol is involved.

That sounds like something my best friend would love. Thanks! I have to plan her Bachelorette party end of this year.

Well we did kinda the same thing as above but we gave my friend a list of things to complete and each one was worth money, so say one thing to do was dance with a stranger, and it was worth 10 bucks and she completed it well you get the idea
