I've been on a low carb/protein diet for 6 days now. When is it okay to have a cheat day? My anniversary is coming up on Wednesday and of course we are going to have to eat some dessert! I am craving chocolate so much that I am even dreaming about it... I literally dreamed about eat snickers. Lol so far I am doing well, I believe anyways. But, I am still struggling and I don't want to cheat and give up!

If you want to have one cheat meal to celebrate a special occasion, I see nothing wrong with it. It's one meal and you can plan for it in terms of eating a deficit or exercising more that week. Personally, it's the weekly cheat meal/day that I don't agree with because a person can easily undo their hard work for that week in one meal or day. It's your anniversary and you want to be able to enjoy life without always feeling restricted. You could also share a dish, dessert, etc with your spouse so you aren't tempted to eat it all by yourself.

Out of curiosity, are you on a low carb, low protein diet?

Eat some chocolate, these silly strict diets are what cause people to give up and binge. Everything in moderation.

Never a cheat DAY. A weekly cheat MEAL is permissible because it normally won't do Too much damage. A whole day will!!! ;)

Yes, I am! I ended up getting a piece of pie and sharing it with my daughter! She ate three bites before I took one. (:
I have 30 carbs and 20 protein. Of course that is hard to follow but I do try to follow. So far I have lost 8 pounds in less than a month so I think I am doing pretty well!

I definitely ate a chocolate bar with my kid yesterday. It seems the only time I eat it is when I decide to share something with her. She's one, she can have a few bites every now and then! She's tall and skinny so she could use a pound or two!
