Focusing problem

Is it normal to have trouble focusing and feel a little powerless in my firsts days of eating less calories? I used to eat like a lot and now I'm eating 1600

    What does "trouble focusing" mean exactly? Are you clear about your goals? Have you used the MFP software to set up your goals for weight loss so that you know 1600 is the right number. You should focus on Net calories and attempt to stay on the plan MFP gives you. Add exercise and you get to eat more--that's why net calories is more important than total calories--you can lose weight if you are in deficit no matter how much you eat. If you run a marathon on Saturday, you can eat a hot fudge sundae that evening and still lose weight. Use the MFP tools, diary and log accurately. It works.

    If you have a tendency toward hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), you might be feeling a bit unfocused due to that. Try spacing out your calories more evenly during the day—if you're eating 1600, think about making your meals total 1200, and have a 200-calorie snack between breakfast and lunch, and another one between lunch and dinner.

    I found myself feeling hungry a lot of the time for the first three weeks. After that, it got a lot better. As you train your body to draw more effectively on stored fat as fuel, you'll probably feel more focused. But snacks can help, as long as you include them in your plan and log them accurately.     I mean that I can't focus on learning for my exams or watching a movie with a subtitle and things like that. The number MFP gives me is too low for me doing Insanity so I upped it to 1600. I find it hard to stick with this number because the problem is only happening when I start to eat less

    As you are new to this it takes a while for your mind and body to adjust, calorie counting food can become a little over powering.
    Try starting over and gradually over a couple of months lower your calories to the goal MFP set you.
    If you are trying to loose 2 lbs a week lower it to 1-1.5 so you can eat more.

    If you are exercising eat back 50-75% of your calories. MFP has included your deficit in your basic calories and expects you to eat those extra calories.

    If you don't want to use that route try working out your TDEE (link below) this included your exercise calories and spreads them over 7 days.
