Fitbit and multiple apps

What is the best way to track your exercise using Fitbit or other apps like map my fitness so that you get your true calorie burn? I tried map my run today with my dog and auto pause stopped counting and didn't resume. So it had 9 minutes instead of 20. Am I best to just use the Fitbit instead of other apps?

The first tracker I ever used was map my run. I used it for every run and loved it. Now I have a fitbit and only use that. But I think it's a personal preference. Find what you like and what works for you0

I wear my Fitbit every day. I have my calories set to sedentary and let the Fitbit add calories for activity. I generally don't eat all of them. I don't know how accurate the Fitbit is, but I like that I can go in the app and see my TDEE over time. According to it, I burn anywhere from 1700 to 2000 calories per day depending on activity, which seems right for my height and weight. I'm eating 1300-1500 per day to lose 0.5 to 1 pound a week. It's working.0
