How do you get rid of back fat?

I just had my first fitting for my wedding dress today (getting married 10/14/11) and it fit really well except for a bit of "spillage" from my back fat. I'm usually more of an aerobics girl (cycling, walking, elliptical) but have recently added full body weight lifting (meaning i do about 8-9 weight lifting machines at the gym). Any suggestions on targeting this specific area?

Unfortunately, there really isn't any way to spot reduce fat from one area over another area. You just have to keep working at it to lose weight overall and it'll come off according to your body's own schedule. Usually the first place that your body puts fat on is the last place that it'll take it off from.0

As stated above, simply: you can't. You just lose fat, and your body sheds it wherever it wants until it's all gone. Unfortunate, I know. I wish I could have shed my midsection before the little layer of fat I had on my legs lol.0

I remember seeing something on tv with a trainer who said jumproping is great for toning the back. I haven't tried this personally, but it's worth a try. I have lost some of my back fat through overall weight loss and doing weight machines that target the back muscles. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding :drinker:0

oooh, oooh, I really want to know the answer to this. I know that you just lose it where you lose it. For me, I've lost all my hips and thighs, still have the back fat. even my belly is going down. can't get rid of the bat wings. It's frustrating...0

Back rows are great.

Rowing machines at the gym... love em! My trainer has been working my triceps, biceps, chest, back, and shoulders like crazy! The rowing machines are some of favorite... there's push rowing and pull rowing. Both help w/back fat. Consider asking one of the trainers to suggest workout... questions are free, and if your gym offers any free training sessions (mine gave me 2), that's great way to learn a lot!0

I had back fat and it only went away after I did the Insanity workouts. It started to go down with P90X but then it went away with Insanity. The people on here are right - your body just decides where to lose it from (or at least that is how it was for me) and you can't really target it but good luck girl! You can do it!0

having problems with lower back fat. my upper back fat and buldge around my bra is actually decreasing from back rows and deadlifts, things like that. I do zumba 3 times a week, thinking the twisting motion will help with the lower back fat. it has helped my waist, but not my back!0
