...wake up in the morning, weigh myself, 132.4 lbs

Eat breakfast, weigh myself, ... 137.3 lbs

Same clothes etc. 2hr timespan.

Are these fluctuations normal?

Granted, I had a very unhealthy breakfast today, but it's because I'm going on a 10mile run in an hour.

More info about me:
18 yo. Female. 5'3".
Not sure what my weight is anymore? Runner;

Need to lose weight because:
-family has poor health history- doc says safest weight would be 125lbs.
-going on a Europe trip this summersummer

Does anyone else experience the same type of fluctuations?

Advice on how else to measure progress?

    As you add food and liquid to your body throughout the day, your weight is going to change. This is why most people don't bother weighing throughout the day.

    Your weight will even change day-to-day, which is why people who weigh daily should focus on the long-term trend, not their weight on any one day.

    Everyone has throughout the day weight fluctuations. That's why you shouldn't weigh more than once a day and make sure it's always under the exact same circumstances. For example; upon waking, after using the bathroom, before eating or drinking anything.

    You have just put food into your body, so it's undigested and none of it expelled. Much like putting that same breakfast into a bag, the bag isn't going to weigh the same as it did before you put the food in it is it? Daily fluctuations are completely normal, as are weekly and monthly ones.

    Just to illustrate the point, why don't you try weighing yourself after your run? I love doing this as I always get a nice low number thanks to all the water lost lol!
