Is It true if you don't eat much you don't lose weight? Someone told me this is why I'm not losing weight how can this be?

I wasn't eating enough and I stopped losing. It started back up again when someone suggested I go by my BMR, so I am eating more and am not feeling frustratingly hungry all the time.
Your body will go into starvation mode and start storing fat as a reserve because it thinks it needs to.

No starvation mode is a myth

Eating too little can damage your health and lower your energy levels, leaving you feeling weak and lethargic. In turn, this causes you to do less activity and burn fewer calories. But it doesn't cause your body to run backwards and start storing fat or anything. It's important to eat enough for your health, though. You need those nutrients.

Thank you this could explain why I'm feeling less motivated to anything, I'm trying to train myself that I dont need to keep eating! I work round food all day it so hard to resist!
