I don't eat clean but I train hard and am lean. I am 2 weeks away from my 40 the. I am running the Texas method (an intermediate heavy lifting program) at the moment.0

I haven't heard of that, I started PT two weeks ago and deadlifted 50kg which is only 15kg less thank my body weight. I know so many ladies thinking they will get big lifting heavy0

I'm 38 tomorrow my best deadlift is 134kg!! My normal is 70kg for 4 sets of 10 I've fallen off the train a bit lately but there is a gym opening in town (we have no gym atm I lift in my shed which I find tedious and boring) I'm hoping that is enough to get back my passion for lifting!!0

I do.
Have some dark chocolate. There is nothing wrong with a little bit in moderation.0 -
I'll be 36 tomorrow. I've been lifting heavy for 2+ years. I have semi-visible abs, but haven't training to get lean. It just happened despite the daily chocolate.0

Alcohol has always been a problem too, I used to love a few glasses of wine after a stressful work week but it goes straight on round the middle, so that's not happening anymore! Back in the gym tomorrow but won't be doing cardio as I've had a bad cough over the weekend.
Your all doing so well, I don't think I could lift 134kg but I might get there with practice0 -
I'm nearly 44, and am lifting about 90kg for 5 x 8 sets. Used to be much better, but dropped out of one gym to another and haven't done weights for over 2 years, and only back to it since October so am happy to keep progressing strength wise. Think my PT would like to see my weight change more, but am losing inches so happy with that. I keep my 70% dark choc in my drawer, and have a square when I have a craving. I'll also have a twix when I feel like it - firm believer in no deprivation in moderation.....0

I lift free weights twice a week, run and do other exercises in between. I can't say I eat clean, though. I do try to get in my "clean" foods, but eat junk, too.0

Problem is if I eat junk i put weight on even with exercise, very frustrating!0

I turn 41 in a couple weeks. Been using Stronglifts 5X5 for about a year. Loving the changes I am seeing. I do not eat clean, just try to hit my protein macros. Daily chocolate or ice cream is a must!

My New Year's resolution is to be able to do an unassisted pull-up!0 -
Mine last year was to do ten, I can do one but that's my lot. Good luck!0

My goal one year was to do 10 pull-ups. I got to 7 consecutive quite quickly, but eventually got 10. Then I sort of forgot about pull-ups and haven't really been doing them anymore. The trick was getting a pull-up bar (duh), spotting myself with a chair until I could do one unassisted. Then, I would do several sets of one single rep. Slowly progress to several sets of 2 or 3. Eventually, you can get your first set up to about 5-7 reps, then keep doing 3-5 reps in each of your other sets, and this can go on throughout the day. I used to do about 60 pull-ups a day, but spread out through many hours.0

Wide arm? I did 100 assisted with a resistance band in my PT tonight, my biggest problem was grip!0

I'm 34. Just learning about lifting and slowly working in that direction! Currently lifting lighter weights and increasing with my husbands help.
Please add me if any of you are up for me learning from you!!0 -
I'm turning 40 this year and I rotate between lifting heavier in the spring/summer and lifting mostly moderate weights in the fall/winter. I'm starting another round of Body Beast in March.
For my birthday I'm treating myself to a bikini/fitness photoshoot and I'm so excited! I've come a lonnnnng way and I'm so proud!
Leg day (squats, lunges, deadlifts especially) and power walking gives me so much life so I'm very happy with my lower body and core.
Currently I'm working on increasing my upper body strength. My back and bicep strength is , but my shoulder and tricep strength is . I will reach my goal however.
Just wanted to mention that I have been able to incorporate treats here and there and I still lost a lot of weight and have maintained. Watching the portion sizes and planning for it helps me to stay in control.
Good luck ladies!

I'll be 47 in a month. I cook from scratch, mostly but I'm flexible with my diet. So, not necessarily "clean". Lifting heavy is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I'm pretty lean now but working on the last fat deposits. 5'2@ & 115.4 lbs. (down from 137). I'm doing PHUL, 4x week with some HIIT.0

Well done everyone. Had my PT last night 100 deadlifts, 100 wide arm pull ups, feeling it today and finished this weeks training with bootcamp. Feeling good just need to lose this cough!0
