I posted yesterday about Carrabbas and how there are hardly any nutritional facts online for their food. Well in Maryland (or at least in our county) if you are a chain restaurant you are required to post the nutritional info/calories. REQUIRED. So when we got to the restaurant the calories were under every single thing on the menu. SCORE! Now...I got the Chicken Marsala, but the calories on the menu were higher...370....than on MFP...said it was like 210 or something. So MFP is WAY, WAY off. It was great though...I got a salad with just balsamic vinegar on the side...had the small chicken....and boxed some pasta for my hubby to eat later as my side (all the veggies of the day were sauteed and covered in cheese. UGH!)

I find this so incredibly helpful. I know lots of people don't care and they order the 1400 calorie Pasta Weezie anyway...but I was grateful. Thanks Maryland!!:drinker:

awesome, i wish it was like that everywhere. It would make it so much easier, and possibly more people would make more healthy choices.
  • nyc requires restaurants to list the calorie count, too, and i love it. but when i travel other places, i'm so thrown off when it's not listed!

it's funny I started ordering off the nutrition menu in WA state I was shocked at some of the calories in things such as Boca burgers in a resturant how do they make them over 500 calories it is ridiculous

It isn't Maryland... its Montgomery County. I work in MC but live elsewhere, and the restaurants where I live are not required to provide calories. When I went to Bonefish in Gaithersburg, I was shocked to see how many calories are in some of my favorite dishes. Now all I can eat at Bonefish is the small order of Salmon with no sauce...

    Ignorance is bliss!!

When I fresh into this lifestyle a friend took me to Season 52. Everything on the menu is under 470 calories. I was so happy. Ordered the cedar plank salmon with came with grilled veggies. OMG it was so delish! Came here to log and it was TWO DAYS worth of sodium:noway:

I bloated like a dead fish for 3 days. Next time I went I said "HOLD the salt please!" the waiter asked if the cook could use other seasonings, I said absolutely!

It tasted different, but still delish in another way.

There are choices, we just need to learn to speak up (took me a while:blushing: )
