Nausea during exercise

Does anyone else get nauseated during exercise, especially in the morning?
How do you prevent/avoid it?

I have a very sensitive stomach and nose. It is difficult to eat in the morning and any sloshing or tipping during exercise (jumping jacks, planks, burpees, etc.) causes severe nausea. It also seems to happen as of late when my heart rate gets too high. I have less of an issue if I workout in the afternoon but the AM is very difficult. (The AM workout fits really well into my schedule so changing to an afternoon version is not really an option on a permanent basis.)

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

You can try to eat a small snack one to two hours before exercising if time permits. i.e. fruit smoothie, cereal bar, fruit, low-fat yogurt or cereal and milk (maybe around 100 to 200 calories).. These carbs should not weigh your stomach down thus contributing to nausea but give you energy to push through the workout.

You need to pace yourself. You should carry a short conversation and not have trouble catching your breath. Perhaps you are exercising to an intensity reduces the blood flow to your stomach and this will cause stomach cramping and nausea.

You should make sure you are hydrated before and during exercise. Dehydration can lead to stomach upset, making drinking water before, during and after your exercise session important.

And if you still exercise too intensely, slow the pace when you start to feel cramping or bloating during exercise. While you may think these pains might subside its is usually a strong indicator of advancing nausea.

I guess if you are nauseated, you just stop exercising? Perhaps a short cool down to bring back your heart rate and blood pressure to normal will help as well.

If you just get sick working out in the morning and can tolerate it much better in the p.m. you may need to change it up.. Other than the things I think you could do, this would be the only alternative.

    Don't eat before exercising?

I don't eat before an AM workout. I brush my teeth and immediately start sipping water. I don't feel that nausea anymore. It may be the mint flavor that helps.
