There is just one problem...

I have a huge fear of weighing myself. Not because I am fat or too thin, but there is something so terrifying about standing on the scales. I feel like I am being told off. Also I have absolutely no idea how much I should weigh and whether I should loose or gain weight. I am using this app because I have a fast metabolic rate and no interest in cooking. My doctor has just confirmed that I am a healthy weight and I just need to maintain it, but how can I when I am too scared to check? Any advice on how to change this? I can't be the only person who hides my scales can I?

You don't have to use scales.

Find a pair of jeans that fit perfectly. If they get tight, lose some weight. If they get loose, gain some weight.

Get a tape measure. Measure your waist, butt/hips, each thigh, chest and under bra line, calves, upper arms, abdomen. Date it. Take a picture of yourself and now you have a good record.

Yep, ditto. This is how I maintain. It's worked for over two years. Now, I am not terrified of scales, so I know that there are about 15 pounds that could also go, so now I need those jeans to get loose, and then buy new jeans that fit and use THEM as my guide.

(You might want to find out why the scale is so frightening though. It's just a number. It's no bearing on your worth.)

Bulimic and anorectic previously so I understand. Realizing that body weight is affected by hormones, water, food, time of day, muscle mass and even season has really helped me. That's why I can even weigh myself daily no problem.

Thank you guys! Currently testing the jean method and it seems to work. Setting a target to weigh myself next month. Wish me luck

I was scared of my scale too...until I found this. I have this written on mine. Good reminders. :)
