Digestive Enzymes

I have upped my protein intake per day a significant amount, and since then have noticed severe gas and bloating. I read that it could be the body not breaking down the protein properly due to lack of acid and enzymes in the stomach.
Has anyone else had this problem and tried taken digestive enzymes? If so, what brand do you recommend and how often do you take it?
Thanks!

Probably too much Protein. You only need .7 grams per pound LEAN BODY MASS, per day.

The best Enzymes are made by Enzymedica, and are called "Digest Gold".

I take them daily with meals. My bloat is much less. It takes time for your body to adjust to the new diet. There are tons to choose from. When I get back to my desk I'll tell you what I take. I like them no issues. Probiotics are good too! But i naturally suffer digestion issues so I welcome any help.

Edit: Source Naturals Daily Essential Enzymes, 500mg -- What I wish mine had is OxBile but Im still happy! Good luck in your search!

Thank you so much! I have also been taking a probiotic but feel like it is not doing much so I definitely need all the help I can get. I appreciate your help!

If you can do dairy, I recommend Greek Yogurt as a high-protein food source that is naturally full of beneficial probiotics. I'm not sure if that's directly pertinent to what you are looking for, but definitely a healthy food choice! :)

Hands down, BioGest by Thorne. Start out with one capsule per meal. If it helps, leave it there. If it doesn't, do two caps per meal. The body will train itself to increase the protease it needs to digest added protein by doing this. Usually in 3-4 months you can cut back to one capsule per meal and some months later cut them back again. We've been doing enzymes a long time (healing long term illness in a child) and BioGest is THE best. My secondary go to (although not quite as good) is NOW Super Enyzmes. Same protocol. Big cost difference, but also big results difference. However, NOW is often the brand that other popular brand names use and they are careful about added allergens, etc.

I eat a chewable acidophilus from whole foods every morning on an empty stomach, I forget the brand but it comes in strawberry and blueberry and has to be put in the fridge after opening.
