I eat them together all the time. Roast the chicken (or prepare it however I like -- I like to cook my chicken bone-in, skin-on) and roast the sweet potatoes with just a little olive oil and salt. Add some vegetables to the plate too -- great meal!

I'm sure there are fancier options too -- I've done a lentil soup with chicken and sweet potato, among other things, but the simple one is my favorite and what I do the most.

I just bake my sweet potatoes and sprinkle with cinnamon. I've found that if I refrigerate them, it can be a good substitute for a "regular" dessert. I just bake chicken too; no butter or oil necessary. In fact, I baked both at the same time for dinner last night.

I pick relatively small sweet potatoes when I shop and by weight they each end up between. 100-150 calories. When paired with chicken and some green vegetables, it's decent on calories. I roast or nuke the potato and usually either bake the chicken or cook it on my foreman grill. Sweet potatoes work very well with cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper and some spice like cayenne if you like heat. Those flavors are also very good with or on chicken. Asian spices also work well. A little ginger, soy sauce, spicy of you like, etc. are good paired with sweet.

I bake mine in the oven, on separate aluminum foil "pockets". I like my sweet potato with cinnamon powder. I bake the chicken without any added oil, just spices and herbs

I usually do my chicken breast in a George Foreman grill with a spray of olive oil and some salt and pepper or spice rub. I like sweet potato pretty much anyway but often do it as mash with salt, pepper, herbs and a little bit of milk or some butter if I want more fat that day. Add some steamed veggies and you have a complete meal

I either bake my chicken or cook it in a pan with 0 calorie cooking spray. For seasoning I like lemon pepper, or McCormick's Montreal chicken seasoning.
Sweet potatoes I either bake or mash, and either eat them plain or a teaspoon of two of brown sugar. Pumpkin pie seasoning is really good on it too.

I make barbecue chicken and sweet potato tacos. I bake a large sweet potato and divide it into four sections (4 days of sweet potato madness). then I smash one quarter of it onto two corn tortillas and top with grilled chicken and barbecue sauce. If basil or watercress are on sale, then I dress that with a little seasoned rice wine vinegar and throw that on the taco, as well.
