Meals and calories while nursing

I know this has probably been asked a million times recently, but I need a little help with meals while breastfeeding. I am basically starving all day regardless of how much food I eat. I try to eat as well as I can but sometimes it's difficult when the baby starts crying when I'm prepping breakfast. I've started eating greek yogurt before bed to help with the hunger and to stay away from desserts. Do you have any suggestions as to which types of meals or protein powders that I can use to help with the hunger? TIA!!

I use overnight lactation smoothies for breakfast in the morning. I pre prep them on Sunday night and they last till Wednesday. When my little guy was born, these smoothies were the only thing I had time to eat. Here is one I really like. This lady has several others on her page. http://wheybeyondthenakedtruth.com/2013/10/02/overnight-boobie-smoothies-protein-packed-peanut-butter-apple-oatmeal-smoothie/
I also eat one lactation cookie a day. This one from Paleo Parents is pretty awesome. http://paleoparents.com/2011/video-blog-ep4-breastfeeding-qa-and-grain-free-lactation-cookies/
I'm pretty paranoid about protein powders right now so I don't use them. For post workout I have some leftover meat and fruit.

I don't have any problem with milk production. If I start taking things to increase my milk supply, I'll probably become engorged and need to pump every day. If I eat quaker oats oatmeal, I have an increase in milk production, it would be exponentially larger if I were to have a lactation smoothie. My main thing is my hunger and satiating it.

Have you tried upping your intake of healthy fats?

How is your protein intake? Most people that I've spoken with who don't feel satisfied with their food are either low in fat and/or protein. With a closed diary, it's not very easy for anyone to take a look to offer valid advice.

I was hungry all the time when my daughter was a baby. I would eat 4 times a day, always protein (meat and in the mornings eggs) veggies and sweet potato. I would load up my plate. I only ate a little fruit and a hand full of nuts a day. At night I had 5 squares of dark chocolate. I had one slice of multi grain bread for breakfast with one slice of cheese. A little milk in my coffee, other than that no dairy or grains. I walked one hour with her every day and my weight just flew off. You can eat a lot while breastfeeding if it's healthy food. And it's good for your baby too cause everything you put in your mouth goes into your milk!
