Protein Bars

I was thinking of getting some protein bars, any recommendations. What are the best/worst ones?

Careful with overpriced products from online.
What stores do you have in your area?
Walmart and target have pure protein.
    GNC sells quest bars.

I have all 3 in my area. As well as a few grocery stores that sell them as well.

It's really up to your tastes and goals. I like Quest bars because they have 20g of protein and lots of fibre for about 200 calories and some flavours are pretty tasty (I like the apple, cinnamon, banana type ones, not so much the chocolate.) Some people don't like the sweeteners or texture of Quest though, and prefer something like Combat Crunch, Oh Yeah!, Pure Protein, or Think Thin. And some people prefer something more like a granola bar and don't care about maxing out the protein so they go with Cliff or Luna or whatever, which tend to taste better than the hardcore protein bars but mostly aren't as protein-y (I think the Cliff Builder bars are though.)

Go buy a bunch of single bars and try them out before committing to a box, and make sure you read the labels to make sure they have your desired amounts of protein/calories/etc.

I like Quest bars (chocolate brownie flavor) because of the balance of protein and fiber and they are not chocolate coated.

Combat Crunch are also tasty but the chocolate coating makes them messy and less convenient.

I read the nutrition label and look for a lower overall calorie count and higher protein count. You could flip over a few bars in the store so the nutrition labels are all showing and compare. I get Pure Protein bars and the Simply bars.

Power crunch is great, especially if you don't like the traditional, chewy-ish texture. Think Thin is fabulous, and I see Quest has been mentioned here plenty. ;)

I like Quest. Some bars are just glorified chocolate bars and others sit heavy in my stomach or give me heartburn. I haven't had bad experiences with Quest. I've only had a few of the new formula, but I like them so far. White chocolate raspberry is my fave thus far.

Great idea!! I just went and did that! I can't wait to try them! Thanks for the tips guys! I think they're great when I'm running around all day and don't have time to eat a full meal.

Make sure it uses Whey Protein, and not unhealthy Soy protein. Most of them use the cheap garbage soy.
