    Hi Rachel,
I used to work out regularly and was very fit then I stopped for many years and have just started back. I have been watching a lot of videos about fitness on youtube I find them very informational but you can find conflicting information on there as well, so be careful about who you are taking advice from, you'll want to focus on videos from professional trainers who post on there or people who have visible results like the results you want. One thing I found that has been extremely helpful for me is a product called "bpi, Best BCAA" it is a pre workout drink that gives you energy to get through the workout. I LOVE it because I have struggled with having enough energy through out the day and through my workouts. Not anymore. I have been doing this for about a month now and I have lost significant inches around my waist. Less inches in other areas but that is because that is just naturally how my body stores and loses fat. I'm a pear shape. If you are an apple shape you may lose weight on your extremities first and then around your core. I lose it on my core first then on my butt and thighs last...sigh....I am not a sponsor for this drink or anything like that. I just thought I'd check out the community and saw your post. I know that it has helped me get going and stay going so I thought I'd let you know about it. Good luck!

Hi Rachel! Welcome to the first days of the rest of your healthy happy life! Couple pointers, get a food scale (very cheap at walmart) and weigh your food. It is the only way to be 100% accurate. Remember to log your food, even if you don't have time to jump on here write it down and do it later. Set attainable goals. Perhaps 20lbs for your first goal and make sure you treat yourself when you reach it(maybe a new pair of earrings). Remember losing weight is 80% counting your calories, 10% exercise, and 100% mental lol. Remember CICO = calories in/calories out, It is really that simple(not saying it isn't hard), don't fall for anymore gimmicks or woo woo. Keep in mind you will not be losing 2+lbs a week every week, some you will even gain. I just gained 5lbs in one week, complete water weight. It was gone by the next week along with an additional 1lb. Find what encourages you. If it is your baby girl then take a peek at her when you are having a bad moment. As far as exercise, it helps but is not required. If you get it in to your daily routine that is fantastic! it will make you more lean and pop them muscles out when it is time. I would concentrate more on food and getting in as many steps a day as you can. I bought one of those pumpkin Bluetooth v4.0 and I love it, couldn't really afford those fitbits. Since getting it, I have increased my steps from 4k a day to 8k a day. having all those extra steps gives me a little more calories in my budget ;) . one thing you really need to do is find out how many calories you can eat, there are a bunch of calculators on google for this. You will want to look up and understand these two terms TDEE (this is what you truly burn everyday with activity etc) and BMR (this is what you use each day if you did absolutely nothing besides breathing basically). You can eat up to your BMR and you should. If you eat too little, say somewhere between 1000-1200 your body will stall and try to hold onto the weight plus it won't be sustainable. Eat up to your BMR and I promise if you can stick with it you will see results. That is about all of it for now. If you want more info take a look at the daily discussions, they provide a LOT of information. Good Luck to you and I believe in you!

Hi Rachel. I started with the goal of losing 50-60 pounds. I've lost about 34 so far. I'm doing it by changing my diet to whole foods, aerobic exercise and weight training. Friend me if you want to provide mutual support to each other. Good luck.

My little one was with me 24\7. I was afraid being out too long at a time, she wasn't enjoying outdoors time more than 30 min. If yours is good, buy an all terain buggy(3 wheeled) and start walking with her, even jogging. And persevere! If you fail, don't worry, we all do. Just get up, dust yourself and get gorgeous.
All the best to you and baby!
